About Knowledge Atlas
Knowledge Atlas is an interactive map of human knowledge. You can start anywhere, follow your curiosity, and always know where information comes from.
What it's for
Most sites give you an answer. We want to show you where that answer lives: which field it belongs to, what it connects to, and which institutions know it best. You might arrive with one question and leave having found five other things worth knowing.
What makes it different
- A map, not a list. Every topic sits in a web of related subjects, and you can explore sideways as well as deeper.
- Trusted institutions up front. Every page introduces the standards bodies, agencies, universities and museums behind the subject, and links to their best free material.
- Honest about how pages are made. Pages are written with AI assistance and checked against their sources. Here's exactly how.
- Quality over quantity. Topics we haven't written yet appear as “uncharted” rather than as thin pages.
Status
The Atlas is still being heavily built, and it will keep growing over time. Only part of the map has been written so far, and new topics and improvements are added in batches. Parts not yet written show on the map as uncharted.
