Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to explore Knowledge Atlas. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we do

• A list view of the map. The visual map has a List option, which is also what phones show. It presents the same topics as ordinary links, which work with a keyboard and with screen readers.
• A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page.
• Readable text with clear headings, and a table of contents on longer pages.
• Light and dark themes that follow your device's setting.
• Less motion on the map if your device asks for reduced motion.
• No time limits or autoplaying media, and nothing that blocks the page. The one-time privacy note at the bottom closes with one click.

Known limitations

• The visual map is hard to use with a screen reader. Please use the List view instead.
• We haven't yet had an independent accessibility audit, and we haven't yet tested every page with automated accessibility tools.
• The feedback form's anti-spam check is run by Cloudflare. If it gives you trouble, email feedback@knowledge-atlas.org instead.
